Risk return is the right framework, but the more relevant point is still - why aren't there enough medium risk medium return opportunities that are available? Surely the dubki route for immigration - a Trek through the jungles of panama is not something that can be explained by risk return
Brilliant article... Urban India doesn't understand how class and caste privileges work...On the UPSC and other entrance exam aspirants, one student mentioned that they attempt 6 times to get their parents and relatives off their back.. They are down in the dumps.. .they know it but they use the multiple attempts excuse... its more acceptable to society... we are definitely a country of multitudes every 100km
The female pilots number is probably a small number in absolute terms compared to overall employable user base. Better is to look at it as % of population, and then compare with other countries.
Interesting article. Wrote a response on medium.

Thanks for reading!
As Blume calls it - India is a country of contradictions.
Highest female pilots (will have to look into data to see why Hindu caste reasoning does not fit there) and lowest female labor participation
Etc etc

One of the few writings in recent times that I read in full. Well written. Loved the thoughts.
India ka ab kya hoga?
Thanks bhoga! Jo hoga woh to dekh ke hi pata chalega haha
Good and very interesting trail of thoughts. Keep posting.. And good luck for your new assignments..
Thanks for reading Ankur!
Yeah that for sure would be lower. The highest female pilot metric that everyone mentions is female pilots as % of total pilots.
